In a fascinating autobiographical interview, Patricia Churchlandtells us that,
during the 1970’s, "I just could not see howknowingabout the brain could fail
to shed light on cognitive processes." Whatwe have here is a failure of
imagination. In this talk, I propose to explain howknowingabout the brain can
fail to shed light on cognitive processes.
