Benefits at a Glance The IMPACT Employee Assistance Program is a benefit designed to improve your quality of life. Through this program you and your family can receive confidential, professional counseling and guidance when faced with personal or work-related problems, practical helpful information, and referral assistance or direction, when needed, 24 hours a day—every day of the year! How IMPACT Works We all can agree that it is difficult to leave family problems at home and job pressures at work. IMPACT has been implemented as a confidential resource for employees who wish to obtain assistance for problems that may disrupt work or family life. The program is voluntary, strictly confidential and designed to help you help yourself. IMPACT emphasizes early identification of potential problems, which could include: • • • • • • • Stress Financial concerns Marital, Child or Family Distress Alcohol or Drug Abuse Legal issues General day-to-day problems Physical Fitness & wellness • • • • • Job-performance difficulties Child Care/Elder Care Depression or Anxiety Relocation Support Finding the "right" community resources Remember, you can contact IMPACT toll-free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Just dial 1-800227-6007. IMPACT makes every effort to provide services convenient for you and your family—not just during "regular business hours." Three Key Components of IMPACT Your first step in using IMPACT is to call an IMPACT coordinator and explain your situation or concern. IMPACT then offers help in three ways: Referrals: IMPACT is your guide to community resources when faced with issues of day-today life such as medical problems, legal issues, financial issues, child care and elderly concerns. Consumer education and research on a variety of topics are commonly used services and readily available through your Employee Assistance Program. Crisis Intervention: IMPACT is your first call for immediate help when faced with a mental health emergency situation. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day to professionally handle any crisis that may affect your life, or the life of a loved one. Counseling: IMPACT callers present a variety of needs and concerns to our staff. Professional counseling is available both over the telephone and through face-to-face consultation. Up to six complimentary counseling sessions are available at no cost to the employee. These services may be used by the employee or any member of the employee’s household on a per-problem basis. IMPACT’s on-line work/life program links the services of LifeCare.com with the IMPACT EAP for seamless service delivery. It allows employees and their families to access the work/life services over the internet. A library of thousands of articles are available, as well as e-mail access to our staff of experts. Furthermore, employees can receive packets of information through the mail that they can request on-line. Specific areas that are covered under the on-line work/life services include: ⌚ Family issues concerning child and elder care, children with disabilities, non-traditional families, parenting, summer programs, etc. ⌚ Education issues concerning nursery school through graduate education, financial aid, tutoring, gifted and talented children, continuing and special education, etc. ⌚ Daily Life issues involving automotive, consumer information, home improvement, moving and relocation, personal safety, event planning, cleaning services, etc. ⌚ Financial and Legal issues concerning credit/debt management, educational funding, retirement and estate planning, divorce, living wills, mortgages and loans, insurance, etc. ⌚ Work issues involving benefits, change and transition, workplace conflict, manager and supervisor advice, etc. ⌚ Health & Wellness issues related to women's and children's health, diet/nutrition, fitness centers, medications, prevention, prenatal health, etc. ⌚ Emotional Well-Being issues such as addiction, stress, self-help groups, anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic violence, etc. You can access LifeCare at www.impacteapworklife.com. There is no charge for IMPACT services such as information and referral, crisis intervention, telephone counseling or referral to a counselor for an assessment/evaluation consultation. Professional treatment services such as: medical care, psychotherapy, or long-term counseling may require a fee. Most health care benefit plans will cover such services. Please refer to your specific health care plan for an explanation of covered services. IMPACT is your program. We believe that people can overcome their problems with appropriate resources and the desire to resolve them. Using the program will not affect your job security or advancement and all organization policies and procedures remain in effect.
