Expectations
 Students will travel as a group to and from Brazil.
 While in Brazil, students are expected to attend all
classes and technical visits.
 Students will participate in sightseeing with the
class.
 Students are expected to conduct themselves
respectfully and graciously throughout the travel.
Course requirements
 Completion of all readings;
 Attendance at all lectures and technical sessions, including an
orientation and debriefing session at KSU prior to and following
the trip;
 Active participation in small and large group discussions;
 Reading of 5 assigned chapters or journal articles;
 Completion of 5 reflection papers/journal entries;

Completion of a multimedia presentation (supported by
scholarly research) regarding a particular aspect of ASD
preapproved by the instructor which will be shared with the host
university and posted on an EHHS or Office of Global Education
office website.

Costs
 Approximately $3000 depending on number of
participants.
 Fee covers all group transportation (plane, bus, boat),
hotel, some meals, entrance to most tourist events.
 When submitting application bring $700 deposit to Rose
Onders
 Payments expected in Jan, Feb, March and April
 Cost of Living in Brazil is very low (last year 1:3 ratio)
 Spending money: $30-$50 per day estimate
