History and Distinctive Music of the Great Highland Bagpipes – Monday, Oct. 13 from 1:30 – 3:00 PM and Oct. 20 from 2:15 – 2:45 PM in Taylor Amphitheatre. Opera – Thursday, Oct. 23, 30 & Nov. 6 from 10:00 – Noon in Taylor Hall, room 123. Also, on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11:30 AM the Central Georgia Opera Guild will host a luncheon beginning at 11:30 AM in the Lobby of the Douglass Theatre to honor members of the opera class. A pre-opera chat will be presented at 12:30 PM presented by several opera class participants. The opera, Carmen, will begin at 1:00 PM. Admission to the Opera is $20.00 for seniors. Belk Lecture Series: Dr. Amos Yong Thursday, October 30,11:15 AM Taylor Amphitheatre “The Buddhist-Christian Encounter in the Third Millennium: W(h)ither the Middle Way?” Dr. Yong is director of the Center for Missiological Research (CMR) and professor of theology at Mission School of Intercultural Studies, Fuller Theological Seminary. His scholarship has been foundational in Pentecostal theology, interacting with both traditional theological traditions and contemporary contextual theologies—dealing with such themes as the theologies of Christian-Buddhist dialogue, of disability, of hospitality, and of the mission of God.
