MEDICAL SERVICES
Medical Care
University Health Services is a full-service primary care
medical facility offering appointments for treatment of chronic
medical conditions and acute illness or injury. Appointments
are recommended to reduce waiting times, and we can usually
accommodate patients the same day for an illness or injury.
Our physicians and nurse practitioners are board certified
and licensed in the state of Ohio.
Radiology
Radiology provides routine diagnostic X-rays as prescribed
by a licensed clinician. Testing is done by a licensed
radiological technologist.
Laboratory Services
University Health Services Laboratory offers a wide variety of
tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
The laboratory is conveniently located on the first floor of the
DeWeese Health Center. Specialty and pathology testing are
completed through an outside reference laboratory.
Pharmacy Services
The pharmacy fills prescriptions and offers many common
over-the-counter items. Registered pharmacists are on duty
during clinical hours.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy provides rehabilitation after musculoskeletal
injuries or after surgery. Patients can receive short-term or
long-term therapy to help them return to an optimal level of
function and prevent future problems.
Psychological Services
A wide variety of counseling and psychological services are
available for students. Our professional licensed psychologists
are experienced and committed to the special concerns of college
students. Students contact Psychological Services for a variety
of reasons including: academic issues, relationship difficulties,
depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sexuality and substancerelated issues. In addition, psychological testing for attention
deficit (ADHD) and related disorders is available.
Women’s Health
The Women’s Clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners and
physicians who are experienced in women’s healthcare and
sensitive to the needs of patients of all sexual orientations
and cultural beliefs. We also have specialized exam tables
to accommodate disabled women. Services offered through
the Women’s Clinic include pap tests, HPV testing, sexually
transmitted infection testing, confidential HIV testing, breast
