Job Description
The Study Skills Tutoring mission is to support Kent State University students by aiding in the
intellectual transition from studying in high school to studying in college. In order to
accomplish this mission, student tutors are desired who possess the following qualities and
meet the following qualifications:

Necessary Qualities:
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Patient and flexible
- Respectful of self and others

Academic Qualifications:
- Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA

Time Commitment:
- A minimum of 6 hours per week to devote to tutoring
- Commitment to maintaining communication with ASC staff throughout the
week


Reference Form: Please have a professor who is able to speak to your
academic abilities complete the attached Reference Form. The attached
Reference Form may be used in place of an official letter of reference, but your
professor is more than welcome to attach a supplemental letter if desired.

