IF 1403 NFL FLUORESCENT LIGHTING FIXTURES SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE APPLICATION NFL Fluorescent lighting fixtures suitable for use in Wet Locations, NEMA 4X. They are also suitable for use where cleanliness and sanitation are prime factors. NFL Fluorescent lighting fixtures are supplied with a choice of voltages and wattages. The 2 ft. fixture is available in 40 watts at 120, 277, or 347 volts, 60 Hz. The 4 ft. units are offered in 32 & 40 watts at 120, 277, or 347 volts, 60 Hz. and 220-240, 50/60 Hz. NFL Fluorescent lighting fixtures are suitable for operation in a 40˚C ambient temperature. INSTALLATION that comply with the National Electrical Code or the Canadian Electrical code and applicable local codes. Note: NFL Fluorescent lighting fixtures must be installed, inspected, and maintained by qualified and competent personnel. ! CAUTION • To avoid cycling, do not exceed an ambient temperature of 40˚C. • To avoid light failure, proper field wiring must be used. ! WARNING • To avoid electrical shocks, be certain that power is OFF before and during installation or before attempting any maintenance. • To avoid electrical shocks, fixture must be installed on grounded wiring system. 1. Rotate the mounting brackets into mounting position. 2. Mount fixture - chain or ceiling in its support position and attach to wiring system* (see illustration below). * Two (2) 1/2" Myers conduit hubs are supplied for dead end or through feed wiring. 3. Open lens assembly by releasing latches on both sides 4. Remove combination reflector/cover by removing fasteners (clips and screws). 5. Connect fixture leads to incoming conductors using methods ! CAUTION To maintain wet locations, NEMA 4X suitability: • Secure all latches • In dead end applications, also close unused end opening with a Myers hub and 1/2” pipe plug (furnished) 6. Replace reflector/cover and refasten using clips and/or screws. 7. Close lens assembly and secure all latches. Open lens assembly by releasing latches on both sides. 2. Install lamps. Use only correct lamps as specified on fixture nameplate. 3. Close lens assembly and secure all latches. 3. Mechanically check to make sure that all parts of the fixture are properly assembled and tight. 4. Clean the lens assembly with a clean, damp, soft cloth. If this is not sufficient, use a mild soap. Do not use an abrasive, strong alkaline or acid cleaner. Damage to the lens/housing assembly may result. REPLACEMENT PARTS MAINTENANCE ! WARNING To avoid dangerous electrical shocks, always disconnect power source before opening fixture for inspection or service. 1. 2. Frequent inspections should be made. A schedule for maintenance checks should be deter mined by the environment and frequency of use. It is recommended that inspections should be performed at least once a year.
