APPLICATION
The WH Vibrating Horn Signal is used for code or call signals,
or as a general alarm in a signal system that might involve
hours of continuous operation. These signal devices can be
placed in non-hazardous atmospheres of industrial areas such
as warehouses, yards, exteriors of buildings, and in-plant ar-
eas. Signals are typically mounted on walls or other flat surfaces with projectors aimed in the desired direction.
To accommodate outdoor use, the joint of the WH assembly is
raintight between the body and horn. Horns are available with
a flush mount grill or single or double projector.
4.
INSTALLATION
Mount the power unit and projector on the back box using
two #8-32 slotted, oval head machine screws in the larger
size clearance holes at opposite corners. Install two #8-32
x 5/8" Phillips head, taptite screws in the holes opposite the
projector screws to minimize entry of foreign materials and
moisture into the housing. Connect all wiring from the power
source to the proper terminations following your system
wiring pattern in accordance with NEC. Secure projector
with screws provided.
WARNING
To prevent electrical shock, all power must be turned
off before and during installation and maintenance.
1.
Mount assembly securely in the desired location with the
tapped conduit entrance on the top end using two bolts or
screws through the mounting holes. Mount on a flat surface
with the projector aimed in the desired direction. Figure 1
provides mounting pattern and hole size as well as overall
dimensions for grill, single and double projector types.
2.
Install conduit into and then remove either grill or projector
from back box and set aside. Pull all wires through the
conduit system and into back box. Connect the power unit
wire leads to the incoming power source with wire
connectors. Make proper ground connection using green
wire lead.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Always disconnect primary power source before
opening housing for inspection or service.
1.
Frequent inspection should be made. A schedule for
maintenance checks should be determined by the
environment and frequency of use. It is recommended that
it be at least once a year.

components on a regular basis.
WARNING
Assembly must be securely attached into a permanently
grounded system in accordance with Article 250 of the
National Electrical Code® (NEC).
