Our Points of Pride ‐ May 2014 1. Mihaylo College is the only business school in Orange County and one of five in California to hold prestigious dual AACSB International accreditation in business and accounting. This is a distinction earned by less than 5% of business schools worldwide. This past December, Mihaylo College had the most positive of the three accreditation reports over the last 15 years. 2. The Department of Accounting was acknowledged by the Institute of Internal Auditors for exemplary program quality, continuity and sustainability. 3. Our Information Systems (IS) department is ranked 4th in California and 57th in the U.S. for IS research; IS professor Ofir Turel is ranked #43 in the world for IS research. 4. U.S. News & World Report ranked the online Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program in the top 25 nationally and No. 2 in California. 5. U.S. News & World Report ranked our Part‐time MBA program No.118, up 28 positions from 2014 6. The Princeton Review ranked Mihaylo College as one of the best business Schools in the U.S. for the 7th consecutive year. 7. The 20th Annual Economic Forecast Conference, one of CSUF’s signature events, hosted by Mihaylo College and the Orange County Business Council, attracted more than 800 business professionals from Southern California. 8. The Center for Corporate Reporting & Governance annually attracts more than 400 corporate board members and accounting professionals at its annual SEC Financial Reporting Conference. 9. The Sales Leadership Center is names a Top Professional Sales Education program by the Sales Education Foundation. 10. The 2014 Commercial Real Estate Forum, organized by the Real Estate and Land Use Institute (RELUI), attracted 200 industry professionals. Panelists included Kim Redding ’80, Chief Investment Strategist, Brookfield Asset Management and Co‐Chief Investment Officer, Brookfield Investment Management and Pat Donahue ’78, Chairman and CEO, Donahue Schriber Realty Group. 11. The Gianneschi Center for Nonprofit Research is the newest Center of Excellence housed in Mihaylo College. 12. Goldman Sachs joined other Fortune 100 companies in recruiting Mihaylo graduates for career positions. 13. Committed to global education and international business, Full time MBA students traveled to Argentina and Chile and Business Honors Undergraduate students went to France to meet with top level executives. New partnerships with universities in India are being planned. 14. Mihaylo Career Services, supported through private donations, made over 4,000 student connections in the fall including individual career counseling sessions, workshops, career fairs and expos, and employer recruiting events. 15. The Mihaylo College Tutoring Center is funded through private support and provided 2,685 tutoring appointments for undergraduates and graduate students. 16. Undergraduates and graduate students in the Applied Securities Analysis Program (ASAP) manage $200,000 of privately donated funds earmarked to give students real investment experience. This year, the teams’ portfolios are up 23% to date; for comparison, the S&P 500 is up 15%, and the S&P 1500 is up 21% for the same time period. 17. The Mihaylo Real Estate faculty are ranked 12th worldwide for research in the top three real estate journals over the last ten years; real estate professor Michael LaCour‐Little is ranked No. 17 individually for research over the same time period. 18. The Center for Insurance Studies plans to offer a Master in Finance and Risk Management Degree and is fundraising $5 million for a Global School of Risk Management and Insurance Studies.
