01 - Objectives. Provide Regional standards and guidelines for recreation facilities
placed on recreation sites. National objectives can be found in FSM 2336. Direction
on site planning is found in Section 2331 of R-10 Supplement 32 to FSM 2330.
02 - Responsibilities. Refer to FSM 2330.4, and Section 2330.43 of R-10 Supplement
32 to FSM 2330, for approval and responsibility of delegations.
In some cases, an existing design is not available or suitable, and a new design is
needed for a specific situation. These "custom" designs shall be submitted to the
Regional Forester for review and approval early in the process. Before going to the
expense of a new design, the Regional Recreation Office shall be contacted for
existing designs that may be available and suitable to meet the needs. The "custom"
design shall be the exception, rather than the rule.
