6/86 R-10 AMEND 1
CHAPTER 200 - RESERVATION CAMPGROUND AND PICNIC
GROUND OPERATION
Forest Supervisors are authorized to establish a reservation system for heavily used
picnic areas, observing the following practices:
1. A reserved site shall be clearly identified by signing, including the party's
name, date, and time of reservation.
2. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance of the desired date of
the reservation to permit sufficient time for posting of reservation notices.
3. Reservations shall not be made more than 60 days in advance of use.
4. Reservations shall be made for a specific period of time (for example: 2 p.m.
to 7 p.m. on July 4).
A Recreation Area Entrance/Special Fee Permit (FS-2300-29) will be issued to cover
the costs of the reservation service (see FSM 2332.24c).
The permit receipts shall be handled in accordance with FSM 6530 and FSH
6509.14, Collection Officers Handbook, and deposited into Forest Service receipt
account 5008, resource class 7 (FSM 6531.12b).
The fee is payable in one lump sum for an entire group, and is applicable regardless
of age.
Refunds for unused reservations must be applied for, in writing, at least 10 days
prior to the use date. Refunds shall be processed in accordance with instructions in
FSH 6509.14 and FSM 6540.
Fees shall be reviewed annually, and any changes in fees or addition of sites, shall
be recommended to the Regional Forester for approval by December 1 of each year,
along with the annual fee recommendations for cabins and campgrounds.
Reservation fees and site changes shall be published in the same manner as cabin
or campground fee changes.
