Cooper Bussmann’s MPI4040 Series Power Inductors Receive Elektronik
Magazine’s “Product of the Year” Award
Series Recognized for Innovative Features, Small Size and High Efficiency
ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 15, 2013 – Cooper Bussmann, an industry leader in critical circuit protection,
power management and electrical safety, today announced that its Coiltronics™ MPI4040 Series of
Power Inductors has been named a “Product of the Year” by readers of Germany-based Elektronik
Magazine. The product was honored for its innovative features and high efficiency in the Passive
Components category based on results from the magazine's 15th annual “Product of the Year” reader
survey.
“Through collaborative efforts with customers, our team developed the MPI4040 Series to serve as a
complete line of solutions to address complex design challenges in the electronics market,” said Elvis

the utmost in reliability, efficiency and safety.”
Ideal for a wide range of applications, the rugged MPI4040 Series offers several innovative features,
including high frequency operations up to 10MHz and high power density up to 32A. It is designed for
increased efficiency and includes soft roll-off, superb Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding
performance with low radiated noise and an operating temperature range of minus 40 to 125 degrees
Celsius all in a compact, 4.7 by 4.3 millimeter footprint.
The MPI4040 Series is designed for critical commercial and industrial applications. Typical design circuit
applications include AC/DC - DC/DC converters, voltage regulator modules (VRM), LED drivers
(lighting, backlighting), LCD Displays, noise filtering, power supplies, EMI/EMC, motor controls/drives
and oscillators. The MPI4040 Series performance has been verified and included in several Integrated
Circuit reference design platforms for these types of circuits.
