BUSSMANN SERIES BSPD surge protective devices High capacity surge protective devices for switchboards Product description: Features and benefits: Eaton’s Bussmann series BSPD Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) help protect electrical and electronic equipment from overvoltage surges. What’s more, they enable compliance with 2014 NEC® 700.8 that requires a listed SPD to be installed in or on all emergency system switchboards and panelboards. • ® Bussmann series high current capacity SPDs deliver reliable surge protection for switchboards and power distribution panels. The RoHS compliant BSPD uses thermally protected Bussmann series SurgePOD™ technology to safely shunt overvoltages to ground while its thermal disconnect capability eliminates the need for additional fusing. 120kA to 400kA surge current capacity ratings (Imax) meet the requirements of larger switchboards and electrical panels. •UL® maximum 20kA nominal discharge current rating (In) and 200kA Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) meet most system requirements. • easyID™ LED indicators provide surge protection status at a glance. • Available Form C contact, EMI/RFI filtering and surge counter options to meet specific application requirements. NEMA® 1 enclosure Prewired and factory sealed for easy installation and enhanced electrical safety. NEMA 4X enclosure 304 stainless steel housing meets the needs of demanding environments and also comes prewired and factory sealed for easy installation and enhanced electrical safety. Value features: All BSPD units are UL Listed 1449 3rd Edition SPDs with Bussmann series SurgePOD thermally protected MOV technology that delivers reliable surge protection with high surge current capacity. Every BSPD unit is factory sealed to enhance safety by preventing access to energized parts, and eliminate arc flash and shock hazards. All units are prewired with a conduit interface — just make conduit runs, mount the unit and make all wire connections. They are available in NEMA 1 and 4X enclosures that are up to 50% smaller than other products with comparable ratings. Enhanced protection status indication is provided by green and red LEDs that show the true surge protection status on a phase, not the power status on the phase. This is more reliable and accurate than many surge protective devices that only have single color indicators that simply show if power is applied to a phase, not the protection status on the phase. There are also green and red LED indicators for Wye units to show the N-G mode surge protection status.
