Defining France Renaissance presentations 2015 CH PREPARING YOUR PRESENTATION: SOME INSTRUCTIONS Research 1. With your group, carry out a brief literature review, using the materials on the Further Reading list here: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/modernlanguages/applying/under graduate/frenchmodules/fr120/lectureprog/ren and the library catalogue. 2. Choose a secondary source(s) that enhances your understanding of the topic (you should aim to make reference to at least one peer-reviewed secondary source in your presentation) 3. To access JSTOR (database of journal and book articles, key JSTOR into the Encore library catalogue and follow links to the database. If you’re off campus, you may need to login again. Use the search facility there. 4. Your research may also lead you to looking at other resources (web, databases, etc…) 5. Sift and sort your information: you do not need to include everything you’ve read! Putting the presentation together: some rules of thumb 1. Find your angle: you don’t have to be the last word on your topic, but to open up to your audience one or two aspects of it that interest you. 2. Do not put too much information on your page(s) 3. Think creatively: how will you draw your audience in? 4. Use visual as well as textual aids 5. Practise the presentation beforehand to time it. Remember: 6 mins MAX. Further assistance needed?
