This, together with fluent Russian, got him a post in the Cultural and technical cooperation department of the French Embassy in Moscow. Back in France, he then worked in Bouygues Telecom for over a year and, after a short stay with Winstar Communications, moved on to his present post with the ART. In the past, he has been responsible for defining and administering aspects of the International Telecommunication Charge Card as well as chairing the ISO Registration Management Group for ISO/IEC 7812. He has been involved in the Domain Name System and running name servers for over a decade. Prior to joining Nominum, he designed and built the DNS infrastructure for the internal network of Philips Electronics bv, one of the biggest in the world. He is a consulting editor for Addison-Wesley and is writing a book on DNS administration in his non-existent spare time. He works at the technical department that handles questions concerning network interconnection, numbering and other telecom services issues. He has been at the NRA since 1995 and has done a great deal of work with the introduction of fixed and mobile number portability in Sweden.
