EAST LAKES DIVISION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN GEOGRAPHERS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, 2015 Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center 215 S. Depeyster Street, Kent, Ohio 44240 PROGRAM AND ABSTRACTS Welcome On behalf of Kent State University, Kent State University Department of Geography, and the East Lakes Division of the Association of American Geographers, I am pleased to welcome you to beautiful Kent, Ohio. The 2015 ELDAAG conference promises to be exciting with nearly 100 presentations from faculty and students from all corners of Ohio and Michigan, representing all aspects of the discipline of geography. We invite you take the opportunity to explore downtown and the Kent State University Campus. Check out Kent’s $110 million award-‐winning transformation and explore the area via the many walking paths and bike trails. Visit the Cuyahoga River and its parks, only blocks away from the hotel. Walk, or bike, across the Kent State campus via the esplanade that connects downtown to the campus. You can explore on your own or join us on the walking tour hosted by Jennifer Mapes and Anne Jefferson early Friday evening. Kent State University is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places in th
remembrance of the events of May 4 , 1970. Four students were killed and nine were injured by the Ohio National Guard who opened fire on a group of students peacefully protesting the invasion of Cambodia during the Vietnam War. We offer a th
