MICHAEL A. HALPIN HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

AVAILABLE FOR THE 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR
The Michael A. Halpin Honors Scholarship is awarded in alternate years to a rising junior
Honors College student. Selection criteria include a major in the humanities or social
sciences, a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and a short essay about your
career goals.
The scholarship provides $750 for the 2016-2017 academic year. Renewal for one
additional year requires that the recipient maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade
point average, continue as a humanities or social science major, and meet Honors College
coursework expectations for membership.
All application materials must be submitted to the Honors College by June 15, 2016.
Selection of the recipient will be made in late June, and all applicants will be notified of
the results in early July.
