Interested students are encouraged to apply online at www.kent.edu/
apply. Applying online saves time and paper, and applicants will be able to
view their application status online. There is a $45 application fee.
• In general, a transfer applicant who has taken more than 12
semester hours with a cumulative grade average of at least a
2.0 as computed by Kent State University (on a 4.0 scale) may
be admitted. An applicant who has taken fewer than 12
semester hours will be evaluated on both collegiate and high
school records. (high school transcript and ACT or SAT score)
• Once admitted, sign up for a Transfer Kent State: Orientation,
Advising and Registration program or contact the appropriate
advising office after receiving your transfer credit evaluation
to discuss your evaluation, degree requirements and
selection of courses.

Scholarships for transfer students in the amount of $1,000 include
the Transfer Scholarship, the Kent Bound program for incoming
transfer students from the Cleveland-area community colleges and
Phi Theta Kappa awards for incoming transfer students who are
members of Phi Theta Kappa. The University Award for out-of-state
students is also available.
