Full-time and part-time employees: 14.0%: Retirement benefit

Full-time employees:
Health care insurance: $11,110, beginning in 2014. Health
insurance is budgeted as a portion of the fringe benefits*
based on the percent of time included in a proposal. It is
charged to an award based on the percentage of effort
charged to the project (e.g. 10% effort charged to the
project would be $1,111 of health care insurance costs).
*Fringe benefit rates are budgeted in Coeus using the
closest percentage point to reflect all potential benefits for
employees in the various classes.
Other rates used for
grants/contracts:
Fringe benefits budgeted for summer salary of 9-month
faculty: 16% (rounded)
Fringe benefits budgeted for Part-Time employees - 16%
(rounded) including student employees in some situations.
Fringe benefits for other students - 1%
(rounded). Graduate student also receive flat allocation
toward health insurance ($1451 for AY 14/15), along with
tuition, applicable fees, etc. Check the Bursar’s website for
updated tuition and fee information.
