Tampa Bay Transportation Management Area Leadership Group Geography • Pasco County (urbanized area) • Pinellas County • Hillsborough County FHWA’s What to Look For… • Regional coordination and collaboration among many parties • Multiple MPOs cooperation • Formal Project Prioritization Process Plans must demonstrate considerations of the following: • Regional goals and policies which reflect quality of life, livability, sustainability standards and ideals • Visioning activities and/or scenario planning Level of outreach to groups and stakeholders, including attempts to interact with agencies and organizations that are concerned about (affordable) housing, public health and fitness, water resources, infill and brownfield development, and others not traditionally involved in the transportation planning process. • Complete streets and green infrastructure policies, programs and projects • Climate change and/or energy conservation goals, policies, and programs Innovative programs and/or funding or technical support to improve the integration of transportation and land use planning and development, especially among local member jurisdictions. • Project selection criteria or other methods to advance transportation projects that come out of plans to achieve regional livability, sustainability, land use or similar goals.
