FINANCIAL AID
Apply for financial aid online at www.fafsa.gov.
• The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in applying for federal,
state and campus-based aid.
• You must complete the FAFSA each year you plan to use financial aid.
• Apply for the FAFSA as soon after Jan. 1 as possible to maximize your potential for financial aid.
When prompted, send your FAFSA data to Kent State Trumbull,
school code 003064.
To complete the FAFSA, you will need the following information:
• Social Security number
• Driver’s license number
• Federal income tax return and W-2 forms from the previous year
• Current bank statements and records of stocks, bonds and other investments
• Records of other untaxed income received
• If you are a dependent student, you will also need to provide the above information for your parent(s).
• When completing your FAFSA, you will be given the option to retrieve your tax data automatically
using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This option simplifies the process for you and will reduce the
chance for errors.
• While it is your responsibility to complete the FAFSA, we can certainly help along the way. If you
have questions or are having difficulties, please call 330-675-8860 to schedule a time to work on
the FAFSA on our computers.

nce your FAFSA has been received and you are an admitted student at Kent State University, you
will be able to view your financial aid status and awards on FlashLine.
• I f you live in select counties in western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia, you may receive a
reduced out of state tuition rate. To qualify, you must live in one of the following: Allegheny, Beaver,
Butler, Crawford, Erie, Lawrence or Mercer county in Pennsylvania or Brooke, Hancock or Ohio
county in West Virginia.

www.kent.edu/trumbull. Click on Apply Now.
• Complete the admissions application.
• If you have not attended any type of schooling beyond high school, apply as a new freshman.
• If you have attended classes beyond high school at a college, university, technical, business or
trade school, apply as a transfer student.
• If you are unsure how you should apply, please call 330-675-8860 and ask to speak to Admissions.
• Pay the application fee
• Pay online using a credit or debit card, or,
• Choose “Pay Later” to pay with cash or check in person at the Student Services Office.
• Submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate and test scores to:

The application, application fee and all required transcripts must be received before your application

LEARNING CENTER: The Learning Center provides a variety of academic resources and services
for students currently enrolled at Kent State Trumbull, including peer tutoring, online tutoring and test
proctoring. You can meet with a tutor free-of-charge for help in mathematics, English, science and
many other subjects. Student Accessibility Services assists students with varying degrees and types of

LIBRARY: Through its affiliation with OhioLINK, a statewide network of college and university
libraries, the Kent State Trumbull Library offers you access to more than 50 million library items,
thousands of electronic journal titles, 150 electronic research databases and 25,000 electronic books.
The library also offers 36 computers with Microsoft Office software and Internet access; personalized
research consultations; laptops to lend; private study rooms and a media viewing room.
THEATRE: The Kent State Trumbull Theatre partners with the local community and K-12 school
systems. They produce four plays during the university season (September-April) and three more
plays during the Summer Stock season (May-August). The theatre produces classics, contemporary
pieces, musicals, youth shows and even a few edgier avant-garde pieces. For more information
