Our records show that it has not been taught for some time; so, you can make your changes knowing you won’t adversely affect a program offering of ours. It occurred to me as I was looking into this for you that we might want to use this opportunity to open a conversation larger in scope about our overall offerings and what our current faculty members and pool of adjuncts are best positioned to offer. We may find other areas where we can strengthen the collective offerings for our students without adversely affecting one another, a win-win so to speak. Let me know if you’d be interested. We are moving toward a full curriculum review as part of our reaccreditation process and would welcome a larger conversation with you and your department. Have a great weekend. Best Wishes, Greg From: Robert Jones [mailto:robert.jones@emich.edu] Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 2:57 PM To: afleisch@emich.edu; gplagen1@emich.edu Subject: PLSC 520 Hi, Arnie and Greg. Happy new year. What is the status of PLSC 520? Is it regularly taught? The reason I am asking is that I am making some changes to our GEOG 556, Zoning, course. The changes involve a new course description and name to better reflect the actual course content (see below). We are also changing the prefixes for most all the Planning Program courses to URP in order to make it easier for our students to locate planning courses in the schedule. I want to make sure that you are aware of these changes and that they do not negatively impact your programs. Also, if your PLSC 520 course competes with our GEOG 556 course, maybe we should discuss this with an eye to reducing the redundancy. Let me know if you have any concerns about the proposed changes. Thanks.
