A. Rationale for Revision:
“Radio/TV Announcing,” the current title, is no longer inclusive of the broader scope of this course.
This performance course incorporates not only voice-over announcing for commercials and other
entertainment vehicles but also news reading, broadcast interview techniques, nonverbal techniques
for the camera, on-camera movement and program control techniques. The course is not only about
vocalization but it is also about the use of the entire physical instrument in communicating through the
electronic media. The course introduces students to the variety of electronic media communication
demands and a title change is required to address the more inclusive focus.
