Approval of minutes from October 11, 2012 Meeting (Booth move to approve, Rescorla second—Motion passes (5-­‐0-­‐1) II. Old Business SMPD 560 SAG 155 SAG 255 SAG 295 SAG 325 Motion (Haynes, Rescorla second): Table above courses. We did not receive any updated documentation about them. We need to check with Rhonda Longworth to see what the status of these courses is, as they already appear in the course catalog. If approved, then need to check further regarding CAC input process. (Motion passes 6-­‐0-­‐0) III. New Business College of Health and Human Services RECR 284: Backcountry First-­‐Aid (new course) Comment: Can repeat this course twice for credit; why is this allowable? Motion (Rescorla, Haynes second)—Approve course with comment. No justification for being able to take course multiple times for credit. (Motion passes 6-­‐0-­‐0) College of Arts and Sciences BIO 501: Proposal Development in Biology—course revision Motion (Booth, Haynes second)—Approve course (Motion passes 6-­‐0-­‐0) MATH 091: Basic Mathematics Review—new course Motion (Booth, Rescorla second)—Approve course (Motion passes 6-­‐0-­‐0) SOCL 250: Quantitative Applications in Sociology—course revision Comment: May want to change to C or better in Math 104; this is required for QR choice Motion (Rescorla, Haynes second)—Approve with comment. Need to include “C or better” in Math 104. (Motion passes 6-­‐0-­‐0) CAC New Member Guidelines: Amy Johnson has written a draft of procedures for new members of this committee and sent it to the former Chemistry department representative for input. After she incorporates this feedback into the draft, she plans to send it to Ernie Behringer and Christine Clark for further feedback. Marianne suggested sending the document to Kate Mehuron for additional input regarding not just what the procedure HAS been, but rather what it SHOULD be.
