(MUSC & DANC): All Courses mentioned below were approved. § MUSC 317, MUSC 341, MUSC 401, MUSC 402, MUSC 511, MUSC 513, MUSC 517 approved with comments 10-0-0 § Comments § MUSC 341 - Course Description Box is not checked and should be checked B. RDNG 660 – The Course was not approved with comments 8-2-1 § Comments There is no rational for pre-requisites that have been removed C. RDNG 654, RDNG 675 and RDNG 676 were approved with comments 11-0-0 § Comments § RDNG 675 – In the rationale, the clauses do not have a grammatical structure. Please revise 12(c) where box is checked for seniors as undergraduate students cannot take a 600 level classes. § RDNG 676 – Please revise 12(c) where box is checked for seniors as undergraduate students cannot take a 600 level classes. § References to credit hours in program revision are inconsistent. § RDNG 654 - Item 11 is mismarked. § Poorly developed rationales in all the course proposals. D. The proposal to revise the Academic Advising Certificate from the College of Education and the new course EDLD 553 were approved with comments 11-0-0 § Comments § In the program revision, there is confusion whether The College Student Development Theory course is EDLD 655 or EDLD 665. § For EDLD 553 number 15 under section C related to replacing an existing course is mismarked. § In the program revision, there is a problem with the credit hour totals not being accurate IV. New Business A. (ARTS) § ARTS 546, ARTS 645, ARTS 646 and ARTS 647 were approved with comments 11-0-0 § Comments § The word “basic” or another term should be added to the title in ARTS 546 to differentiate the classes from a 600 level classes. § A more defined grading standard for all the classes would be in the interest of the instructor § The graduate level grading standard should be depicted in all the graduate courses. B. (H&P) § HIST 4XX and HIST 466 were tabled 11-0-0 with comments § Comments § HIST 466 - Similar course in PLSC 221. Need approval from the impacted department. § HIST 466 - Number 14 should be checked yes. § HIST 4XX - There is no schedule of topics or readings § HIST 4XX - Point 2 of Book Review Requirements and Point 10 and 11 of Book Review Rules are of a concern for the committee because it implies a prohibition on diversity on text and normative judgements by the students in general. § HIST 4XX - Need to revise book review rules. (Item 10 and 11). Term moral judgement is not appropriate. § For Both HIST 4XX and HIST 466 • There is no list of topics or readings in the syllabus especially in 4XX. • The pre-requisites need to be approved. • The rationale was weak • No Calendar. § PHIL 225, PHIL 425 and PHIL 602 were approved with comments 10-0-0. § Comments § PHIL 225 - Catalogue description to be revised to fit within the 50 word guideline. § PHIL 602 – Subtitle should be deleted (“Teaching Seminar and Practicum” should be only used). The proposal should say that all graduate students can take the class, and not only the term ‘Masters Students’. Please consider revising the course catalogue description to remove some of the repeated words (“philosophy”). C. (CTAT) § CTAT 321 Approved with comments 9-0-0 § Comments § Please change the catalogue description. The clauses are not grammatically parallel. It can be changed to “And to prepare students to apply those techniques to visual electronic media.” D. College of Education § Graduate Certificate in Learning, Motivation and Creativity – New Graduate Certificate. The proposal was tabled with comments 9-0-0. § § V. VI.
