Creative Scientific Inquiry Experience (www.emich.edu/csie) 2015 Faculty Fellows Seminar Application Overview: In this seminar, faculty incorporate specific teaching strategies to make the connections more transparent and accessible to first and second-year students among science, math, or technology classes. All instructional staff are welcome to apply (part-time lecturers, full-time lecturers, tenure-track faculty, tenured faculty). Strategies developed during the CSIE Faculty Fellows Seminar include: Interdisciplinary, theme based experiences, Research-specific skill development and team building, Academic service-learning (AS-L) experiences and community-based research, Timely academic advising, long-term academic planning, and Career exploration and opportunities for mentorship with faculty and community professionals. Upon completion of developing a CSIE course, faculty will receive a $500 honorarium. When the CSIE course is fully implemented, the faculty member will receive an additional $500 honorarium.
