Student Coordinator - Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office
Work Study Award $500 - $7.25 per hour
Work with Cornell's chaplain and its Interfaith Understanding and Spiritus leadership teams to
create opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection, interfaith exploration and understanding,
social justice, healing peace, chapel programs, service, and compassion. Help facilitate Spiritual
Life programs including through ministry of presence at events. Collaborate with various student
orgs and offices such as Intercultural Life and Civic Engagement. Help Social Media & Publicity
Assistant with marketing of events, light chapel upkeep, and misc office duties. Prefer a nonsenior. Must be responsible, and welcoming of people with diverse faiths and no faith.
Social Media and Publicity Assistant – Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office
Work Study Award $400 - $7.25 per hour
Serve on the Spiritual Life Interfaith Understanding and Spiritus student leadership teams, assist
with leadership of various events, and work with the chaplain and student office coordinator to
publicize programs. This includes but is not limited to: Student Gateway, OC Signs, Fliers,
Table Tents, Digital Signage, Master Calendar, Sandwich board signs, as well as making
Facebook events/updates and Twitter reminders. Must be responsible, and welcoming of people
with diverse faiths and no faith.
Inter-Spiritual Program Assistant – Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office
Work Study Award $300 - $7.25 per hour
Serve on the Spiritual Life Interfaith Understanding student leadership team, serve as
main
liaison with the Inter-faith Living and Learning Community, and work with
chaplain to provide on
and off campus opportunities for exploration and understanding of differing religious and spiritual
perspectives. Healing peace vigils, inter-spiritual Friday meditation, social justice, and related
programs also in the mix. Must be responsible, and welcoming of people with diverse faiths and no
faith.
Spiritus Assistant – Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office
Work Study Award $300 - $7.25 per hour
Serve on the Spiritual Life student leadership team with focus upon Spiritus—the ecumenical
Christian arm of the Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office. Assist the chaplain with visioning and
implementation of chapel, other devotional opportunities, and other
events with openness to
diverse theological and other orientations. Leadership includes
help with Communion, reading scripture and liturgy, and a welcoming ministry of
presence including at peace vigils, social justice and service projects, and inter-faith
events. Must be responsible, and welcoming of people with diverse faiths and no faith.
Music Position – Chaplain & Spiritual Life Office
Work Study Award $300 - $7.25 per hour
Provide music accompaniment for Spiritual Life events including chapel (typically 1-2 x a
month). Must be able to play piano and read music with ease (guitar, violin, or flute also
welcome for a partial work award). Needs knowledge of, or willingness to learn, traditional
Christmas and other seasonal music flowing out of Christian spirituality. Help extend ministry
of presence at chapel and at inter-spiritual events. Light duties caring for Allee Chapel piano.
