See attached PDF for common forms that are being scanned that are not required to be scanned. One of the forms discussed was Discharge Paperwork. Per hospital policy, this form doesn’t have to be signed by the patient, or anyone else. In fact, medical records would prefer you not to the discharge paperwork signed. There is an electronic version that already goes to patient’s medical record. It was made aware that the downtime form is a duplex form with carbon copies that has signature lines. SSS will work on a suitable downtime form. Problems in getting help with Vendor to fix the scanner in a timely manner. Attached you will find a document that shows the best steps in getting your scanner/fax fixed if broken. No questions. Ron Reed IV Team Workflow 10 minutes Group Discussed IV work flow, most floors the nurse either filled a form out and the MR called or the nurse called and spoke with IV Team. On occasion, MR would take information from nurse and deliver info to the IV team when they called back. Issues / Concerns: MR’s and message basket 15 minutes Message Baskets discussed, only 9th floor was using message baskets for appointment scheduling. 9th floor is going to check with their leadership as they have come across physicians putting in orders for the apt scheduling and so work is being duplicated. In general for most floors, physicians are using HEO/WIZ order to schedule appointments for patients. Over all message basket use is few and far between. Next Computer Talk will be March 6, 2012. 6128687582 Page 2 of 2
