Surcharges Added To Buddy Pass Tickets April 8, 2008 With the cost of oil continuing to remain above $100 per barrel, Delta is acting quickly to moderate the affects of these higher-than-planned costs on our operations. We recently increased the amount of the fuel surcharges we add to revenue passenger tickets. And now, we must add a similar surcharge to buddy pass tickets. Buddy pass tickets issued on or after Tuesday, April 15, 2008 will include a fuel surcharge. This includes original issues, reissues and exchanges whether completed on-line on TravelNet, over the phone by Reservations or at the airport. These surcharges will be added to the buddy pass fare. There will be 3 different possible surcharges depending on the itinerary: z z z A $10 surcharge each way for travel within the 48 contiguous United States or between the 48 states and Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands A $15 surcharge each way for travel between Alaska or Hawaii and the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands A $25 surcharge each way for travel between Canada and the 50 United States, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands and for all other travel including transoceanic, to Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico. Applicable taxes will be added. Travel itineraries with stopovers will be charged additional fees. A stopover is a stay in an intermediate point for more than 4 hours for domestic itineraries (including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) and more than 24 hours for international itineraries. Domestic Within 48 states or between 48 states and Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands Alaska & Hawaii Between Alaska/Hawaii and 50 states, Puerto Rico, or Virgin Islands $10 each way $15 each way International Between Canada and 50 states, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. All other travel areas (Transoceanic & Latin America, Caribbean, Mexico) $25 each way For example, if a buddy pass passenger travels from LAX to CDG with a connection in ATL (a stay less than 24 hours) and continues on to CDG, the surcharge added to the one-way fare would be $25. However if the same passenger travels from LAX to CDG stopped in ATL for more than 24 hours, then continues on to CDG, two surcharges would be added to the oneway fare: $10 domestic for LAX-ATL and $25 international for ATL-CDG. An additional surcharge(s) would apply for the return trip. These surcharges do not apply to yield fare tickets or ZED and industry discount (ID) tickets for travel on other airlines.
