Presented by Officer Candice Dorsey
Any EMU professor or staff member might at some point find him/

upset. This program will offer a few basic skills on how to de-escalate
an agitated student. Although there are no guarantees, these
strategies are intended to be thought provoking and used in a flexible
manner to increase the odds that an educator can respond efficiently
and effectively to a student who presents a wide range of emotional
issues. This training session merely offers options to consider when an
unexpected situation occurs. If a student or staff member presents a
situation that is considered a safety risk to him/herself or others, DPS
should be notified when safe to do so and as soon as possible.
