Greetings from the Dean’s office in the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University!
I am pleased to share some exciting news about an event on Eastern Michigan University’s
campus.
As part of Secretary Duncan’s Back to School Tour, U.S. Department of Education officials are
traveling to the Great Lakes region to host related events. We are pleased to announce that
EMU will be hosting Alexa Posny, Assistant Secretary, Office of Special Education and
Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), for a Round Table event entitled:
Education and the Economy: Investing in our Future
Eastern Michigan Round Table focusing on Special Education
Teacher Preparation, Recruitment, and Retention.
EMU Student Center Ballroom- Friday, September 9, 2011
10:00am-12:00pm
The event will include a welcome from our President, Dr. Susan Martin and a presentation by
OSERS Assistant Secretary Posny, followed by a panel discussion.
