UCL DIVISION OF BIOSCIENCES NEUROSCIENCE, PHYSIOLOGY AND PHARMACOLOGY THESIS SUBMISSION AND VIVA – NPP GUIDELINES 2015/16 You must submit your thesis by your programme end date. A single day after the deadline is considered late and submission then has to be granted by the Dean of Students. If late submission is subsequently permitted, a penalty fee is charged. Late submissions also reflect poorly on the Department and will impact negatively on relationships with external funders and Research Councils. 6 months prior to students’ submission of thesis You must submit a Thesis Plan (an outline of the table-of-contents headings for your thesis) to the PhD Administrator – Joanna Fryer – j.fryer@ucl.ac.uk. You must fill out the Exam Entry form and give to your supervisor (who will complete and submit it to the PhD Administrator). http://www.ucl.ac.uk/current-students/research_degrees/rd_exam_entry At this time your supervisor will also complete the Examiner Nomination form and submit to the PhD Administrator. Supervisors can find guidance for the appointment of examiners in the Academic Manual, chapter 5: Assessment Framework: research degrees, 1.3.1. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/current-students/research_degrees/rd_exam_entry http://www.ucl.ac.uk/srs/academic-manual/c5/research-degrees/examiners 1 month prior to submission Format and binding of your thesis. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/current-students/research_degrees/thesis_binding_submission SUBMISSION!
