Our goal is to have at least one presenter from every department and school. Help us make it a success! Important Deadlines January 18, 2013 Presenter application deadline 150-word abstract February 15, 2013 Scholarship consideration deadline March 8, 2013 Reception RSVP deadline March 13, 2013 PowerPoint submission deadline Information you need to know when you apply Before applying, be sure to have a faculty mentor(s) with whom you will work to finalize your presentation. The form will ask for his/her name and email address. We will email him/her to seek approval of your presentation. Without the approval, you will NOT be scheduled to present. Have a conversation before submission so that our email request for support will not be surprising. You will need a title for your presentation – don’t make it too long. Prepare the presentation abstract, which needs to be at most 150 words – PLEASE BE BRIEF! Groups may present their work as a team. One member will be the point person and will provide a contact phone number for the group. That person will complete the online application and enter information about each presenter. Be sure to have the correct spelling of all names – these will go into the program, be on the website, and be printed on nametags and certificates of participation. We will also need emails for each presenter. Have all of this information handy before you start the online application form. The event presentations will begin this year at noon. Oral presentation sessions (4 presenters for each session) will be @ 12:00-1:15 p.m., 1:30-2:45 p.m., 3:00-4:15 p.m., and 5:45-7:00 p.m. The poster sessions will run @ 1:15-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:15 p.m. There will be a Reception and Awards Ceremony from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The Sigma Xi speaker, Professor Donald C. Beitz, will begin at 7:00 p.m. Submit your presenter application online at http://commons.emich.edu/grf/2013/ Winter Workshops offered by the Faculty Development Center Creating Free Google Docs Surveys Workshop January 24, 1:00-2:30 pm in Halle 110 January 29, 9:00-10:30 am in Halle 11 January 30, 3:00-4:30 pm in Halle 111 (All graduate students welcome) Led by Kelly Frisch, GA Google forms are a useful tool to help you plan events, send a survey, give students a quiz, or collect other information in an easy, streamlined way.
