Wall Data Corporation Grant. ($18,000). Fall, 1993 - Spring, 1994. ISRC was the
administrative authority for grant to faculty principle investigators, Dr. Thomas Marshall,
Auburn University and Dr. Lee Pelley, UNT. To study the effects of Semantic Object Database
Design tools on the database design.
UNT COBA Faculty Research Initiative Grant. ($2,650). Summer, 1993. Principal
Investigator, IS Majors Communication Skills Research Project.
Bombay Corporation/CRT Grants ($40,000); Fall, 1992-to Fall, 1995 (Present). Principal
Investigator. To continue the 1991-1992 study for improving the communications skills of
BCIS majors. In addition, a $15,000 Software Grant from AMR for World Tutor Software (see
ISRC grants above).
LTV/TI/ISRC JOINT Grant ($12,000 total); Winter, 1991-2. To study the impact of CASE
methodology on quality and productivity of software development. Also, to investigate the
impact of CASE on organization structure and culture. Study to be performed by Drs.
Kappelman, Pelley and Vanecek.
IBM Corporation Grant ($1,500); December, 1991. To underwrite TEXIS Conference in
April, 1992.
Bombay Corporation/CRT Grant ($3,700); Winter, 1991-2. To fund a study for improving
the communications skills of BCIS majors.
Texas Advanced Research Program Grant request ($377,000; not funded); Summer, 1991.
To develop BOARDROOM 2000 Project. $135,000 in matching funds already raised.
BCIS Distinguished Faculty Professorship ($350,000 funding level by 1997); $150,000
raised by 1992, while I was BCIS Chair. Texas Utilities, Jerry Farrington, donor.
Southwestern Bell Telephone Award ($150,000) to University of Missouri--St. Louis. To
foster excellence in instruction and research in the field of management information systems.
Award was a direct result of the IBM Grant Proposal as part of a matching grant contingency.
Award distributed in equal $50,000 installments from 1986 to 1989.
IBM Grant for the Management of Information Systems ($2,000,000 requested, not
funded), Project Co-director and Co-author. The grant request was the culmination of five
months of effort by the faculty of the School of Business Administration, University
Administration, the University Computer Center, and St. Louis Area Business Leaders.
IBM Planning Grant for the Management of Information Systems ($12,000 funded),
principle author, 1984.
