*All parents/guardians of students attending a school that has been identified in a
step of improvement have the right to request a transfer for their child(ren) to
another school within the district (referred to as a “choice school”) that has not
been identified as a school in a step of improvement. However, since all the
schools in the Kennewick School District are deemed “in need of improvement,”
the Public School Choice option is not available. The surrounding districts also do
not have room to take our students. Their schools are also “in improvement.”
