ARCHIVED ARTICULATION GUIDE
Students following this agreement have until September 2017 to transfer to EMU.
St. Clair College – Approved Technical Programs
Eastern Michigan University – Bachelor of Science in Applied Technology
Additional Information:
1. In completing this coordinated program of study for the Ontario Advanced Diploma program at St. Clair
College and the Bachelor of Science in Applied Technology at EMU as indicated on the preceding pages,
course substitutions should be made with the guidance of the advisers at both institutions to assure that all
requirements are satisfied.
2. Only courses with a grade of “C” (2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale) will be accepted for transfer to EMU.
3. Under this agreement, EMU will waive the 60-hour rule and require that a minimum of 30 credit hours must be
completed at EMU, 15 hours of which must be in program requirements at the 300-level or above. Of the last
30 hours completed before graduating, a minimum of 10 credit hours must be in courses offered by EMU. A
minimum of 124 credit hours, completed in-residence or accepted in transfer from St. Clair College or other
accredited colleges, is required for graduation. General education requirements may be completed at the most
appropriate time for the student whether before or after admission to EMU.
4. Students will be responsible for finding their own co-op placements in Canada for MFG 387. Paperwork will be
handled by fax, mail, and/or email.
5. Students must meet all admission requirements at the time of application for admission to EMU, including
submitting transcripts from all previously attended colleges. St. Clair College students will receive equal
consideration with other students for course registration, financial aid and scholarships. Non-native English
speakers will follow EMU’s general ESL test policy.
6. Students are encouraged to contact the Applied Technology Program Coordinator early, before applying to
EMU. To facilitate the evaluation of transcripts, students should make it clear they are using this articulation
agreement when they apply to EMU and bring a copy of this articulation guide to all advising sessions. Copies
of the articulation guide are available on EMU’s webpage at www.emich.edu/ccr/artguide.htm.
7. Students in Canada, who are not on any student visa, will be charged resident tuition for on-line courses and
may take as many as they want. Students will also pay fees, including the online fee in effect at the time they
register (currently $40 per credit hour). Students on an F-1 or F-3 visa status may enroll in regular classes on
campus and pay the non-resident tuition rate. Once students are on a student visa, they will be limited to one
on-line course per semester. Information on EMU’s online offerings can be found at www.emuonline.edu.
Effective Date: September 1, 2008 until August 31, 2014.
This agreement has been extended through August 2014. If this agreement is not renewed at the end of the effective
period, students who have already begun the program will have an additional three years to be admitted to EMU
under the terms of the agreement. St. Clair College students who began the program prior to the effective date may
use this agreement.
