Vision and Hearing Screenings
The vision and hearing screenings will be administered by a screening team designated by
the school nurse supervisor. This screening team shall have the responsibility to conduct
vision and hearing screenings of students in the school district each year. The team will
also be responsible to:
1.
Schedule screenings at each school
2.
Record results of all students who are screened.
3.
Evaluate the program's effectiveness.
Parents or guardians shall be advised when a child's screening results show that there are
possible problems with the student’s vision and/or hearing. A copy of the test results shall
be included with the above information.
Children shall be exempt from the screening procedures upon written request by the parent.
