Since its inception, Eastern Michigan, first as a Normal School, then as a College and finally as a University, has grown and developed to respond to the ever-changing needs of society. Over the years, EMU has educated thousands of sons and daughters of Michigan, the nation, and the world. We offer more than 200 majors, minors and concentrations in undergraduate, graduate, specialist, doctoral and certificate degrees delivered through the following 5 colleges plus the Honors College: EMU IN IN BRIEF BRIEF EMU Eastern Michigan University is located in historic Ypsilanti, about 10 miles east of Ann Arbor, 40 miles west of Detroit and just 20 minutes from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
