What is the "Crossing Lines" Design Expo? The Design Expo is a one-­‐day exhibit during the Undergraduate Symposium of outstanding products created by talented undergraduate students from a variety of academic disciplines that demonstrate the outcomes of their design-­‐ based projects; often interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature. The exhibits are open for review the entire day of the symposium, from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in Room 300 & 302 of the Student Center on Friday, April 1, 2016. I’m accepted…Now what? 1. Choose a Presentation Session Although, we encourage students to participate for the entire day, you MUST sign up for one presentation session and be present with your exhibit on the day on the event. Session A: 9:00-­‐11:00 a.m. Session B: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Session C: 1:45 – 3:45 p.m. 2. Contact Vanessa Davis – vcaffey@emich.edu Email Vanessa with your presentation session selection (A, B or C). Additionally, if you did not include the following information when submitting your project, please include it in your response (this information is required): a photograph and description of your project, size of the project, measurements, and any special exhibit requirements (electrical outlets, pedestal, etc.). We want to be prepared to display your project at its very best. 3. March 30 – Drop off your project! Complete and sign the insurance release form (included below) and bring your project to room 300 in the Student Center from 3-­‐7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 to drop off for installation. 4. March 31 – Attend the Design Expo Gallery Reception The Design Expo Gallery Reception is an exciting event premiering the Undergraduate Symposium. This reception is on Thursday, March 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 300 of the Student Center. We encourage you to attend this event, and you can invite friends and family members to see your exhibit during this private affair. 5. April 1 – Attended the EMU Undergraduate Symposium On the day of the event be prepared to arrive before your scheduled presentation time dressed in professional attire. Be ready to discuss your project at length; the design, inspiration, and planning with visitors. Immediately following the event you must pick up your project from 3:45 – 5:00 p.m. You must pick up your project by 5:00 p.m. or it will be discarded.
