Travel Flexibility making travel easier Use Your Rail Pass You can use your NJ TRANSIT monthly or weekly rail pass (imprinted with a zone number) for any light rail trip at no additional charge during the period it is valid. Rail one-way and 10-trip tickets are not valid on light rail. Commuter Rail Transfer Rail tickets purchased for transfer at Secaucus Junction between the Hoboken and Newark division rail lines will be valid for use on the Newark Light Rail at no additional charge to make this connection between Newark Broad Street and Newark Penn stations only, with a single ticket. Tickets that are accepted for this light rail transfer will have “NLR” printed on the face of the ticket. Use Your Bus Pass You can use your NJ TRANSIT one-zone (or higher) monthly bus pass for any Newark Light Rail trip at no additional charge during the period it is valid. Use Your Newark Light Rail pass Your light rail monthly pass is valid for one (1) zone of travel at no additional charge on NJ TRANSIT buses, NJ TRANSIT contract carriers, and local bus routes operated by private carriers accepting an NJ TRANSIT Bus Card. One-Way Ticket Transfers Customers may purchase a one-zone transfer for 75¢ from their NJ TRANSIT bus operator that will be valid for connection onto the Newark Light Rail. Customers purchasing tickets through Newark Light Rail TVMs may purchase a one-zone transfer during the transaction, valid for connection to a one-zone bus ride. There are numerous connecting bus routes, which are shown on the line map in this timetable. PATH offers rail service between Newark Penn Station and the station at the World Trade Center, Journal Square and 33rd Street in New York, and Hoboken and 33rd Street in New York.
