1). "Are you interested in auditioning for the Marlowe Middle School Jazz Band? Auditions
dates will be after January 19th, 20th and 26th. Please pick up a packet from the music wing
from Ms. Atlas if you are interested in auditioning.”
2). It’s time for the Young Author’s program. You can use any stories you have started this school
year as a starting point. Books are due Feb. 26th and must include your first and last name, team,
and grade. You can drop off your books in the LRC. If you have any questions, stop by the LRC.
3). Ecology Club is sponsoring a Styrofoam recycling challenge that ends today, January 15th.
Please make sure you turn in all stytrofoam for our challenge.
4). Please contact Ms. Hayashi if you are still interested in joining speech team! Thank you!
5). Attention Law Enforcement Explorers Club members-This month’s meeting will take place
next week after school on Tuesday, January 19th. We look forward to seeing you then. See
Mr. Hanfland in Room A-103 if you have any questions.
6). Please check lost and found in front of the library for any of your misplaced items. They will
be donated at the end of school today.
7). Foods Club Session 1 will meet for the last time Wednesday, January 20th. Make sure to add
your winter-themed recipe ideas to the haiku page. Session 2 will meet for the first
time February 17th. Listen for announcements about your first meeting next month.

PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT
If you have the PowerSchool application on your cell phone and have opted in to receive
notifications, you may receive an alert saying your student is absent for certain periods.
If your child is absent and you have already called the absentee line prior to the alert, you do not
have to call the absentee line again. Your student's attendance will be updated. If you have not
called in your child's attendance, please call the absentee line at 847-659-4711. If you prefer to
not receive this attendance alert notification, you can deactivate it through the mobile app by
going to Settings > Notifications > uncheck Attendance; this should cancel the notifications.
