Fire systems must be fully operational and tested. Therefore, it is important that your electrical contractor obtain temporary power for the building prior to the final electrical inspection. Temporary Power can not be issued after the electrical final. Should this step be overlooked, the General Contractor will have to apply for Temporary Occupancy, which will allow us to contact the utility company for a meter. The Temporary Occupancy procedure will cause an avoidable delay and added expense in obtaining permanent occupancy. 2. Hotel guest room furniture can not be installed prior to the final inspection. 3. Prior to partial occupancy of a building, the entire shell/core must be fully compliant with respect to fire and life safety systems.
