The position is located at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. An employment term of at least one year is expected. Start date is flexible, though
candidates who can begin on or before May 15, 2015 are strongly preferred. The position is well
suited for candidates who are considering pursuing a graduate degree in Economics or another

14th Annual Carroll Round Undergraduate Economic Research
Conference at Georgetown University.
The Carroll Round is the premier undergraduate economics research conference in the world.
Every year around 30 of the brightest undergraduate economics students from a pool of hundreds
of applicants from multiple countries join us on the historic Georgetown University campus to
engage in a weekend of economics related presentations and discussion. We draw applicants from
the world's leading economics programs, including the University of Chicago, Harvard, the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, Oxford and the
London School of Economics among many others. We hope that students from Cornell University
can be part of this tradition for the 14th annual edition.

We're delighted to announce that the application for this year's conference is now available on our
website<http://carrollround.georgetown.edu/>. This year's conference will take place from Thursday,
April 16, 2015 to Sunday, April 19, 2015. We're also excited to announce Dr. George Akerlof as a
keynote speaker. George Akerlof is an Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at University
of California, Berkeley. He is also a 2001 recipient of the Alfred E. Nobel Prize, where he was
honored for his theory on asymmetric information and its effect on economic behavior. In the
coming months we will also announce the addition of another exciting speaker.
Our application deadline is Sunday, February 8, 2015 and applications are accepted on a rolling
basis. Since acceptance to the conference is extremely competitive, it is to the applicant's
advantage to submit the application materials as soon as possible, even if it is prior to the deadline.
All decisions will be announced on a rolling basis.
The Steering Committee would appreciate it if you could forward this application announcement to
students writing senior theses or performing other original research projects. We recommend that
students apply as early as possible, but applicants need not have finished their research projects
when they apply. Works in progress, as well as detailed abstracts, are acceptable, and the Steering
Committee will contact applicants if further information is needed before a decision can be made.
Throughout the weekend the formal presentations are supplemented by various social events
where participants, steering committee members, professors serving as discussions chairs and
invited speakers can interact with each other.
For more information about the Carroll Round, visit our website
<http://carrollround.georgetown.edu/>. The FAQs <http://carrollround.georgetown.edu/conferencedetails/faqs> and application<http://carrollround.georgetown.edu/apply/> pages should be
particularly useful.
AEI's Summer Honors Program
I would like to call your attention to AEI's Summer Honors Program. It's a great program for
students - teaching in it is one of the highlights of my year. The program lasts for two weeks,
introduces students to a wide-range of policy issues, features experts and prominent guest
speakers, and allows the students to really get to know each other, forming lasting friendships. AEI
covers the costs of housing, transportation, meals, and provides a stipend.
Check out this webpage for more:

If you have any questions or would like to discuss, please feel free to email me. If any students
whom you think would benefit from the program have any questions or would like to discuss, please
direct them to Anna Eames, cc'ed here.
Thanks for spreading the word, and hope all is well,
