We are delighted that you will be joining us at The
University of Warwick. We hope that the information
provided in this document will help you to get the most
from your event. Please bring these instructions with
you. You will find them useful whilst on campus.
Travel Details
The University of Warwick is located on the southern
outskirts of Coventry. Full travel details (by road, air
and rail) are outlined in the enclosed leaflet, ‘Location
Map’.

Car Parking
Please note that not all car parks are adjacent to your
registration and accommodation areas. Conference
delegates are invited to park in car parks 15, 8, 6 and 7.
If you are parked in car parks 15 or 7, you will need to
collect a code from Rootes Reception to exit these car
parks. All of the University’s car parks are displayed
on the accompanying “campus map”. Car parking is
free of charge during your event in the conference car
parks. A luggage store is available in Rootes building
if access to bedrooms is not available upon arrival.

Registration for your Conference
Messages/Assistance
Registration will take place in the Physics Building
(building 44 on the map). The Registration Desk
will be open at the following times:
The telephone number for colleagues or family to
leave an urgent message for you between 7:00am
and 11:00pm is 024 7652 2280. For emergency
messages outside these times please call the
University Switchboard on 024 7652 3523.
When attending an event at The University of
Warwick, please check with your Event Organiser
the procedure for arranged messages.
Visitors in need of emergency assistance should
contact Security on internal extension 22222.
Day 1 You will receive your delegate information for the
conference and your badge from the Registration
Desk. Please wear your badge at all times. This will
allow entry to the restaurants and help with security.
It will also enable you to identify fellow delegates.
Meeting Rooms
The venue for the opening session is the Physics
Lecture Theatre (PLT) which is located in the
Physics Department Building on the Science
Concourse (no 44 on the map).
The refreshment breaks during the conference
programme will take place on the Science Concourse
just outside PLT.

Dietary requirements
A range of special diets can be catered for. Please
inform your Event Organiser of your dietary
requirements at least two weeks prior to your event.
When entering Rootes Restaurant, please make a
member of staff aware of any pre-booked meals.
Facilities
Facilities at the University include a bookshop,
pharmacy, cinema, hairdresser, newsagent, Post
Office, supermarket and laundrette.
There are three major banks on campus with cash
dispensers.
Please note that meeting rooms,
accommodation and dining areas are not all
under one roof. It is therefore advisable to
bring suitable clothing and umbrellas as
appropriate.

There are various food and drink outlets around
campus. Please see the website for more

The number 12 bus travels through central campus. If your destination is the
Rootes Building, once on central campus get off at the third stop and the
Rootes Building is directly in front of you.

By Air
Approx 30 mins by road from Birmingham International Airport,
1 hour from Nottingham East Midlands Airport, 2 hours from Luton Airport
and 15 mins from Coventry Airport.
Approximately 12 minutes by taxi from Coventry Railway Station. Alternatively,
take the Travel West Midlands number 12 from the Warwick Road Bus Stop. When you pass through the ticket barrier at Coventry Station please take your
first left following a footpath to the bus stop on the bridge of Warwick Road. Buses leave this bus stop frequently for the University and the journey time is
approximately 20 minutes.
By Rail
The nearest station is Coventry however the Chiltern line runs from Warwick
Parkway and Leamington Spa stations from which you will have to get a taxi to
campus, approximate journey times 15 minutes from Warwick Parkway and 25
minutes from Leamington Spa.

How to find us
From the North/East
• From M69 /M6 interchange (M6 Jct 2) take A46 towards Warwick and Coventry S & E.
• After approx 3.5 miles you will reach Tollbar End roundabout
(junction with A45). At the roundabout, follow signs for A45 Birmingham.
• After approx 3 miles you will cross the A429 (Kenilworth Road). Half a mile after this junction take the left-hand turn signposted
‘University of Warwick’ (Fire Station on left, Police Station on right).
Follow signs for University of Warwick (and Warwick Arts Centre) across
two roundabouts. You are now approaching The University of Warwick
from Kirby Corner Road.
• Follow Maps 3 and 4 for your meeting location.
From the South East
• From M45 Jct 1 take A45 towards Coventry.
• After approx 7 miles you will reach Tollbar End roundabout
(junction with A46) follow signs for A45 Birmingham.
• Now follow the directions given in the third bulletpoint above.
• Follow Maps 3 and 4 for your meeting location.
From the South
• From M40 Jct 15 take A46 towards Coventry.
• After approximately 8 miles leave A46 at junction signposted
‘University of Warwick’ and turn left.
• Take the second exit at the mini roundabout and continue for a further
mile on the Stoneleigh Road, crossing the A429 Kenilworth Road.
You are now approaching The University of Warwick from Gibbet Hill Road.
• Follow Maps 3 and 4 for your meeting location.
From the West
• From M42 Jct 6 take A45 towards Coventry.
• After approximately 9 miles you will pass a large Sainsbury’s store on
your left. At the next roundabout
(Fire Station on right, Police Station on left),
take the right-hand exit, signposted ‘University and Canley’.
• Follow signs for University of Warwick (and Warwick Arts Centre) across two roundabouts. You are now approaching The University of Warwick from Kirby Corner Road.
• Follow Maps 3 and 4 for your meeting location.
