RESTORATION PROJECT

Construction nears completion for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water
Services’ Bongaard Pond Restoration Project. The contractor is finishing
the last construction items, including roadway repairs. The project will
preserve and enhance water quality of the streams downstream of the
pond. In addition, flood control improvements were made by replacing
the culvert under Middle Acres Road.

Stream restoration channel is complete.
A 54” and 60” dual pipe system under Middle Acres Road is installed.
The downstream headwall has been poured and backfilled and
construction of dam embankment is complete.
