Pawtuckett Neighborhood Improvement Project
Public meeting results
The second public meeting for the Pawtuckett
Neighborhood Improvement Project (NIP) was
held February 12, 2009 at Thrift United Methodist
Church on Moores Chapel Road. At this meeting,
the City’s consultant, Armstrong Glen, discussed
the NIP area and scope and summarized input
collected from the first public meeting. Also,
four project alternatives for neighborhood
improvements were presented and the attending
residents were asked to select their preferred
alternative.
The alternatives were created based on
comments from the first public meeting,
questionnaire results and engineering
recommendations.
All four alternatives include the following:
•
•
•
Installation of new culverts under Glenmoor
Drive and David Avenue
Possible connection of Glenmoor Drive to
Kismet Drive (based upon approval of two
property owners affected)
Installation of an asphalt pedestrian/bike
connection along Ashford Street between
David Avenue and the future neighborhood
park.
The four project alternatives presented at
the meeting were:
Alternative 1:
•
•
•
Five-foot wide sidewalk along one side of
Stonehurst Drive, Eagle Peak Drive, a portion
of Claremont Road and a short portion of
Running Deer Road
Curb and gutter on both sides of Hoover
Circle and Wesbrook Drive
New storm drainage along Hoover Circle and
Wesbrook Drive
