ANNOUNCEMENTS
The U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program awarded $750,000 to the Colorado Geological Survey for lidar acquisition in Central and Western Colorado. CGS will use the accurate 3D elevation data to help local communities plan for natural hazards and respond to disasters such as floods and landslides, support infrastructure, and strengthen environmental decision-making.
The Mines chapter of the Blue Key Honor Society recently received the Blue Key Director’s Choice Award at the Society's National Conference held at Kansas
State University. The Director’s Choice Award is one of the highest honors and recognizes chapter contributions, achievements, participation at the national level, and the personal character of its members. The students and advisors who attended the conference included Peter Consalvi , Brittany
Marshall and Chase Li . Chapter advisors in attendance were Michelle Kozel (National Blue Key
Board Member), and Bruce Yoshioka .
