Separate Structures. Is a main breaker required at the panel located inside
of a building when it is fed from an outside service panel mounted on a brick
wall that is adjacent too but not attached to the building?
Yes. NEC Art. 225 covers requirements for outside branch circuits and feeders run on
or between buildings, structures, or poles on the premises. Art. 225.32 states that a
disconnecting means shall be installed either inside or outside of the building or
structure served.
Is it permissible to install a receptacle inside of a bathroom cabinet?
A receptacle will only be accepted in a bathroom cabinet if it is in addition to the
required receptacle. NEC Art. 210.52 (D) requires at least one receptacle be installed
within three foot of the outside edge of each basin. The receptacle shall be located on
a wall or partition that is adjacent to the basin or basin countertop.
Which grounding table is used to figure the ground on the secondary side of
a transformer?
NEC Art. 250.30 (A) (3). A grounding electrode conductor for a single separately
derived system shall be sized in accordance with 250.66 for the derived phase
conductors.
Which grounding table is used to figure bonding of multiple services
disconnecting means?
NEC 250.102(C) requires that the bonding jumpers on the line side of each service and
the main bonding jumper be sized from Table 250.66.
