CBEN472 Individual Special Topic
Spring Semester 2015
As stated in the class syllabus, there will be an individual presentation as a special project for CBEN472. Each individual will be responsible for researching a topic related to energy systems and present the material, both as a written report and an oral presentation. The topic of the presentation will be up to the individual student but must be approved by the instructor. Each student will pick a different topic. There are very few ground rules for the topics:  The topic must be related to energy usage, conservation, or transformation technology.  The topic should be related to changes to existing technology or application of a new technology.  The presentation should attempt to qualify impact to society. The presentation should be 12 – 15 minutes in length (including questions & answers). Points will be deducted if the presentation is not 12 minutes at minimum. If the presentation plus Q&A extends past 15 minutes the instructor will retain the option to stop the discussion. The presentations will be scheduled during the classes in the week of April 27th. The written report will document the material & references used for the oral presentation. It should be at least 5 pages in length. The paper is due to the instructor via email no later than 5:00 pm Tuesday, May 7th. CBEN472 Spring 2015 ‐ 1 ‐ March 18, 2015
