In the former lab, data are collected with undergraduate students; in the latter, data are collected with mice. Research assistants can choose where to work. Research assistants' primary responsibility is to help collect data. Other responsibilities differ due to students' interests, experience, and availability, and include such tasks as organizing the data in Microsoft Excel, analyzing the data using SPSS, presenting the results at professional conferences, and assisting with the publication of the results in scientific journals. He studies how factors such as reading skill and motivational variables interact with use or nonuse of these study systems to influence examination performance.
